Rebuild by Design is hosting two public receptions in New York and New Jersey to hear Rebuild by Design's ten Design Teams discuss their research and the ideas born out of their work.

Alumni & Student Mixer!

LEAP is excited to announce that they will be holding a UESM alumni and current student mixer this Friday, Oct 25th in HHN room 406 at 6pm. This event will be a fun way to become introduced to the variety of career paths that UESM alumni have followed. There will be a brief 'panel' where a select handful of alums will share their path through and beyond Pratt, with most of the evening being dedicated to casual Q&A, networking, and mingling. 

All current student and UESM alumni are welcome! Light food and drink will be provided!

Pratt PSPD Beach Clean Up 2013: A Success!

Thank you to everyone that participated in this year’s Pratt PSPD’s Annual Beach Clean-up Day.  The beach clean-up was part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day sponsored by the American Littoral Society and the Ocean Conservancy.

The data collected will be analyzed by the American Littoral Society and the Ocean Conservancy to evaluate current pollution abatement programs, address the sources of the debris, and establish policies to better manage the source of the pollution, as well as to protect the health of humans and marine life.

Joseph Mizzi, Fall 2013 Lecture Series

Joseph Mizzi has almost 25 years of experience in the NYC Construction Industry. In 1995 he joined Sciame Construction and in 2006 was named President of the company and is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the firm.

Joseph serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Architectural League of New York, and is a member of the Board of Directors of both the New York Building Congress and the Boy Scouts of America, Greater New York Councils; he is also Treasurer and Vice Chair of the Salvadori Center, serves on the Board of Trustees at the Bronx Museum of the Arts and is a member of Young Presidents Organization’s (YPO) Metro NY Chapter.

He also serves on the Advisory Board to New York University’s Master of Science in Construction Management Program, Pratt Institute’s Construction Management Program and Clemson University’s Construction Science and Management Program. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Architecture and Design Film Festival.

Joseph is co-founder and CEO of two not-for-profit organizations, 14+ Foundation, Inc. and Chipakata Children’s Academy Foundation, both of which serve to educate and care for children in Zambia, Africa. He was named recipient of the 2013 NYC Subcontractors Trade Association Builder of the Year, the 2012 Construction Industry Boy Scouts Greater NYC Council’s “Good Scout” Award, and the 2012 Israel Bonds “Builder of Israel” Award. He also received Pratt Institute’s 2011 Alumni Achievement Award.
